Even more concerning, a recent survey by the American Academy of Neurology reported that 1 in 5 doctors intend to leave their jobs and nearly a quarter intend to reduce hours. With only ~660 movement specialists attempting to treat over 40 million total movement disorder patients, current physician overwhelm must be managed with appropriate support to ensure we don't lose more good doctors to burnout.
